Canterbury national parks - proposed plan amendments

Canterbury Conservancy has two national parks: Arthur's Pass and Aoraki/Mt Cook. Amendments have been proposed to the management plans for both these national parks.

Update 16 December 2011

Many thanks to submitters; five were received for Arthur's Pass and eight for Aoraki/Mt Cook. No hearings were required.

Submissions have been analysed, and some suggested changes will be made to the proposed national park management plan amendments. The amendments will be tabled with the Canterbury Aoraki Conservation Board at their February meeting, and with the NZ Conservation Authority at their April meeting.

Final approval of the plans are expected by mid-2012.
