Walking track
Following the true left bank (looking downstream) of Diamond Creek, a popular trout fishing stream, this sometimes boggy track to Lake Reid gives excellent opportunities for viewing waterfowl and views up to Paradise and the Dart Valley.
15 minutes from Glenorchy on the Glenorchy - Routeburn Road.
Dogs are allowed on the Diamond Creek Track, but must be on a lead.
Glenorchy, at the head of Lake Wakatipu, is the gateway to some of New Zealand’s best-known, multi-day tracks. There are also good one-day tracks, with many shorter walks nearby.
Find businesses that are DOC-approved to provide activities and services for the Diamond Creek Track.
